Part-Time Lecturer Pool

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures in the College of Arts and Sciences, University of Miami, is soliciting applications for individuals interested in possible part time teaching positions during the academic year (maximum two courses in a semester). The department is particularly interested in applicants able to teach language courses in Arabic, French, German, Haitian Creole (Kreyol), Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, or Spanish. Duties will include teaching courses at the elementary and intermediate levels in Arabic, French, German, Haitian Creole (Kreyol), Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, or Spanish. It will also include a minimum of three hours per week of office hours per course to meet with students.

Minimum qualifications include a Masters Degree in the target language or in a relevant field and one-year college-level teaching experience. Applications will be reviewed as received, and this pool will remain open throughout the academic year. An appointment/offer is contingent upon student demand (enrollments) and available funding, with the possibility that final confirmation will not be available until classes begin.
