Language Requirement Exemption Exam

The Language Requirement Exemption Exam provides eligible students with an opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency in Spanish for placement or exemption purposes.

Eligibility and Requirements

At this time, the exam is available only in Spanish.

Students may take the exam in the Language Laboratory during regular operating hours only during the first two weeks of the semester.

Students must present a written referral from their language instructor before taking the exam. The referral may be:

  • A printed note or document from the instructor, or
  • An email from the instructor shown to laboratory staff upon arrival

Taking the Exam

No appointment is required during the designated testing period. Students may visit the Language Laboratory during regular operating hours and complete the exam on-site.

After Completing the Exam

Once the exam has been completed, students are responsible for contacting the appropriate instructor by email to confirm that they have taken the exam.

The instructor will review the results and communicate the outcome directly to the student.

Important Notes

  • The exam is currently offered only in Spanish.
  • Testing is available only during the first two weeks of each semester.
  • A faculty referral is required before the exam can be administered.
  • Students must follow up with their instructor after completing the exam.
