This page covers everything instructors need to use the MLL Labs with their classes: reserving a room, the software and equipment available, requesting films, and giving students remote access to course audio/video.
Instructors may reserve the Modern Languages Laboratory (MB 201) or the Teaching Computer Lab (MB 205) during class time for activities such as: using lab computers to access language-related websites and news, guiding students through internet-based activities, working through audio/visual exercises from the class workbook, using software available in the Lab, or holding a Zoom Virtual Immersion session.
To reserve a room, check the Lab Calendar first to confirm availability, then email the IT Lab Manager with your course, the date and time block you need, and the room (MB 201 or MB 205). You'll receive a confirmation once your request is fulfilled.

Faculty interested in using a digitize film in their course should first contact the University Libraries to request streaming access through Canvas. Requests may be submitted to richter.reserves@miami.edu.
If a film is not available through the library's streaming services, the Modern Languages & Literatures Lab may be able to provide access on designated lab laptop computers, provided the lab has a copy of the film. Please contact the IT Lab Manager for additional assistance after confirming availability with the library.
Contact the IT Lab Manager at Email / 305-284-8592 for reservations, equipment, or software requests, or the Lab Director at Email / 305-284-2288 for policy questions.
